Brandon Block
Brandon is a seasoned choreographer and designer with 15 years of experience in the marching arts, both as a performer and a teacher. His journey began with the Colts Drum Corps in Dubuque, Iowa, where he played in the brass line from 1995 to 1997. He then transitioned to colorguard, marching with the prestigious Madison Scouts from 1998 to 1999. In 2000, Brandon achieved significant success as a member of St. Anns Winterguard, earning a WGI World Class Silver Medal.
As a dedicated educator, Brandon has inspired countless performers. He coached Blessed Sacrament Winterguard from 2001 to 2009, helping the team earn a WGI World Class Bronze Medal in 2007. He has also taught at the Madison Scouts in 2002, East Coast Jazz Drum Corps from 2003 to 2006, and the Sensation Performance Ensemble of the Netherlands 2004-2005, fostering talent and creativity in the marching arts community.
Currently residing in Charlottesville and DC, Brandon balances his passion for the arts with his role as the Department Finance and Administrative Manager for American Studies at the University of Virginia. Outside of work, he enjoys immersing himself in jazz music, exploring the outdoors, and maintaining an active lifestyle through workouts and fitness activities.
